About Me
When I studied art and English as I trained as a primary school teacher, my inspirations for mixed media were the vibrant colours of the Sixties, and the textures of the natural world.
A lifelong enthusiasm for gardening has focussed my attention on form, detail and seasonal changes in close-up. Countless holidays in Suffolk have inspired my love of landscape and big skies.
These twin passions have come together in my photographic exploration of surfaces and textures.
My work is moving away from photography pure and simple, to a combination of photographic images and collage – a medium I first experimented with many years ago.
Inspired by Cesar Manrique, Lygia Pape and Andy Goldsworthy amongst others, I create images which I hope intrigue the viewer and lead them on an imaginative journey through texture, pattern and colour.
